What Does Your Donation Do?
$2 - Provides a lamp and socket, bringing for many orphans their first electric light
$16 - Insulates one square meter of the orphanage roof, keeping the child warm during the cold mountain nights
$24 - Purchases one liter of high-grade latex paint, sealing the walls and protecting the wood from the damp air
$50 - Provides a shower in the hospital to promote good hygiene and stopping the spread of disease
$70 - Brings a toilet to the orphanage center, helping to manage waste and keep water supplies safe
$136 - Pours a cubic meter of reinforced concrete around doors and windows, creating a long-lasting and strong building
$250 - Purchases a hot water heater, allowing orphans and patients to take hot showers
$600 - Provides all of the necessary conduit for the electrical system
$1,700 - Connects a septic tank for 50 users to the sewage system, keeping ground water clean

$13,000 - Builds a trade school and kindergarten to ready children to live independently
$22,000 - Prepares the entire construction site and provides safety by building a 8’ wall and security gate
$25,000 - Supplies beds and mattresses for more than 120 orphans, medicine for the medical center, and school supplies
$60,000 - Builds a dormitory for 150 orphans with kitchen and social rooms
$80,000 - Provides a medical center with a maternity ward, delivery room, pharmacy, and laboratory
$200,000 - Fundamentally changes the trajectory of hundreds of lives by financing the entire project
Individual Donors
Nearly every dollar The Kivu Project has raised since 2022 has come from individuals. Every contribution regardless of size is appreciated and is funneled directly into programs and efforts to help the children of the Kivu provinces. Beginning in February 2023, we will be incentivizing donors at various levels as our way of saying thank you.

Child Sponsorships
Day-to-day expenses for many Congolese require an enormous amount of effort to satisfy. We are now offering child sponsorships to help address these needs. Donors select an issue that matters most to them. Your donation will be pooled with others, maximizing the impact we can have on the children of the Kivu provinces. In return you will receive a letter and photo of a child currently struggling with the issue of your choosing, allowing you to meet the beneficiaries of your kindness.
When sponsoring a child, please make a note with your donation identifying the area of need you have selected.
School Expenses For A Year
School fees. Uniforms. Supplies. Combined the cost is minimal, but for many Congolese children it is the greatest barrier to an education. Your gift will ensure that a child can attend school for one academic year.

Medical Expenses For A Year
For many a mosquito bite is a nuisance, but for others it can be deadly. Your gift will allow our children to access preventative care and medicine to combat diseases such as malaria, typhoid, and dysentery.

Food For A Year
No child can achieve success on an empty stomach, wondering when and where their next meal will come from. That is why the gift of food is critical - it fuels the body and mind. If you sponsor a child for a year’s worth of food, you will also receive all of the benefits of the Hero Level individual donor.
